Looking West up Present Day Genesee Street

As you approach geocache point #2 heading northward along the Greenway Trail, you can see the gates which now mark the end of present day Genesee Street. The old history map does not show this street but it most likely was present when the canal existed.

If you proceed to walk back into the village of Scottsville by passing this gate and walking west on Genesee Street, you will cross Rochester Street at the intersection where the Cameron Funeral Home will be to your right on the near side of the intersection.

The second house from the intersection of Genesee and Rochester Streets on the south side of Genesee Street is a large unusual looking private residence now and was originally a school house in early Scottsville.
