As you discover the coordinates for geocache point #3 and head northward along the Greenway Trail you will see this view over your shoulder if you look backwards along the path. Standing about this location, the Scottsville and Genesee River Canal made a turn from heading northwards towards Rochester and headed to the left in this picture to the east and to the Genesee River.
As you continue on to geocache point #3, north towards Rochester, the later constructed, Genesee Valley Canal will be on your left as you walk along the trail. If you continue walking 3.3 more miles up the Greenway Trail towards Rochester, you will eventually pass a lift lock of the Genesee Valley Canal which is in excellent condition. It was know as the Dumpling Hill Lock. That lock is about a mile north of the point where Morgan Road crosses the Greenway Trail if you choose to drive closer, park and walk the trail to the lock.
