Geocache Point #2 at the Park Bench

This view is taken along the Genesee Valley Greenway Trail as you are approaching geocache point #2 which is on the back of the park bench.

The Scottsville & Genesee River Canal passed just to the left of this bench heading northward and the present walking trail was the towpath which later became the Genesee Valley Canal Railroad bed and then later became the Pennsylvania Railroad heading north to Rochester.

Not far beyond this bench heading north, the Scottsville & Genesee River Canal turned right and crossed the farm field. This branch to the Genesee River was abandoned after the Genesee Valley Canal took over and continued northward to Rochester heading almost due north.
